2019 spring millinery trends are all about abstract shapes and alternative forms of headwear
Millinery might be the smallest detail of an outfit, but when it comes to spring racing and the Melbourne Cup Carnival, it is arguably one of the most important.
I’m a sucker for monochrome colours and classic silhouettes, but I do get creative with my millinery and accessories. Now that Spring Racing is in full swing, it’s clear that 2019 spring millinery trends are all about abstract shapes and alternative forms of headwear – headbands, woven-in metallics, over-sized pearl headpieces, bonnets and visors, even hair clips – but that the classic broad brim is never out of style either.
If you’ve been waiting to push the boundaries and get creative with your millinery, the 2019 spring racing season is the perfect time to do it. Millinery trends are shifting, and it’s all about fun takes on traditional shapes this year.
If you’re wearing a classic cut, bespoke number or monochrome set, you have more room to move with your millinery flair too. Sign up to my mailing list for your free guide to choosing a hat for racing season, or to find more inspiration pop onto my Instagram feed.
