The art of couture wedding dress making may be serious and a job that requires years of training and dedication, but there’s a lot of fun in it too. I work with women of all ages, shapes and sizes, and I’ve designed wedding dresses of all styles, from traditional princess cuts and vintage-inspired looks to modern two-piece suits and minimalist tailored ensembles.

It doesn’t matter what kind of style you’re into, or what look you’re going for on your wedding day, the secret is all in the fit. When your dream wedding outfit fits your body and your body alone, it shows, and confident brides make the most beautiful brides.

Derby Day or Wedding Day?

I was lucky enough to have a Julie Goodwin Couture look featured in a recent Victoria Racing Club style guide, and while it was styled for Derby Day, it’s a look that transcends the racing season. Styled by Bec Cole it would suit a modern monochrome bride – imagine it in white!

A tulle skirt and a tailored long-line jacket are two timeless pieces that never date. When paired together with some fun accessories or millinery instead of a traditional veil, they make for a very modern wedding outfit.

For a mother of the bride twist, this outfit would be just as divine in deep navy or crimson, or any colour for that matter.
